Mr. Akande is an experienced chartered accountant with over 39 years of experience. He holds a diploma in Executive Management Accountancy from the University of Lagos and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Calabar. He was formerly a Deputy Director and Head of Training in the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation and retired in 2007 after 35 years of service.
He was an independent consultant in Phillips Consulting which was at the time, appointed by the World Bank to provide technical assistance to the Lagos State Government in the preparation and implementation of budgets within a Medium-Term Expenditure Framework.
Mr. Akande was also involved in restructuring the Auditor General’s office, Bauchi State to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability. He served as a financial consultant to the United National Development Programmes (UNDP) and was a member of the Audit Review Committee. Mr. Akande also serves as a financial consultant at Femwills Limited.
He joined the Board of Grand Cereals Limited on July 26, 2023.
